German designer Michael Schoner of NL Architects had this super great idea to come up with a bench, which plays the user´s favourite songs from their mobile phones and mp3 players through Bluetooth.

Coming in the size of a regular park bench, the Boombench features eight 60-watt co-axial speakers and two subwoofers which brings it to 95 dB high quality sound! Hopefully it helps to connect people and not to repel each other.

The first Boom Bench will be placed on the North bank of the River IJ, right in the physical center of Amsterdam. The Boom Bench will go online on September 18 for a period of 6 weeks.

Leicht verwirrt von der Affensuche am Vorabend werden Luke und ich in den Räumen der Hamburger technischen Kunstschule eher mal wieder die maximalere Schiene auspacken, glaube ich.

Sonntag früh torkelt einer in Richtung DJ/Jukebox und setzt zu dem Üblichen Text an:

Aber dann “irgendwas von 2 Live Crew” zu wünschen, während gerade soulige Betty Lavette läuft, ist ne Top Ansage! Also gesagt getan:

So wie im Video sahen übrigens auch die Gesichter der restlichen verbliebenen Gästen aus. Allerdings kam es – anders als bei dieser Aufnahme einer US Polit-Talkshow – anschließend nicht zu einer Diskussion über obszöne Texte und das Zensieren von Plattenveröffentlichungen.

Ich glaube, hiermit ist eine neue Blog Rubrik eröffnet. Idealerweise Sonntags.

Am Samstag findet zum ersten Mal Freakmachine im Grünen Jäger statt.  Die 3 Hamburger Funk DJs und Veranstalter Sergio, Michael (Funk Guerilla) und Mzuzu rufen die neue Funk, Soul Veranstaltung ins Leben und stehen mit Ihrem Namen hinter authentischem rhythm, bass und soulful vocals. Das bei der Eröffnungsfeier dann auch Superbad! spielt, wo Mzuzu an der Gitarre steht ist Ehren-sache. Das dies ein heftig funkiger Abend wird umso garantierter!
